The INTEGRIcuffs are a 2H Offshore designed sensor for secure measurement of chain tension. It is field proven and extensively qualified using the same ‘gap’ sensor technology used in the INTEGRIcollar sensor.
The sensor accurately measures the deflection of the chain legs when load is applied allowing static and dynamic chain tension to be determined to a high resolution.
The device relies on the high accuracy and robustness of the ‘gap’
sensors, which are extensively qualified in marine applications.
The sensors are fully sealed and manufactured from corrosion
resistant alloys. Robust design and non contact sensors ensures
that the INTEGRIcuffs can reliably operate for many years
without intervention.
The device is ultra low power and designed to interface directly
with the INTEGRIpod for stand alone or online recording.
Additionally, the INTEGRIcuffs may be connected to an
ROV retrievable INTEGRIpod using a wet mateable ROV
connection allowing the INTEGRIpod to be removed and
replaced while leaving the INTEGRIcuffs connected to the
riser.
The device is specifically designed for ease of diver installation and has no metallic contact between sensor and chain. The cuff design accommodates a wide range of dimensional tolerances and surface finishes typical of chain links.
