Data collation review and management

During all stages of the continuous cycle of the integrity management process, data is gathered.  Initially this is in order to assess the integrity status and determine suitable inspection, mitigation and monitoring requirements.   Thereafter, updates to the data ensure that suitable informed actions are taken to assure integrity and to update and provide focus to the ongoing integrity requirements.

The risk level will alter during an asset’s life due to deterioration, accidents, incidents, change in use, anomalies discovered, etc.. The effects of these factors are taken into account, as these activities provide essential information to gauge remaining asset operating life. 2H processes and procedures, together with knowledge and experience of implementing and operating suitable data storage and management within an Integrity framework is invaluable to the Integrity Management process.

Generally, the greater amount of data considered will result in more informed decisions being made and therefore a more effective systems put in place to manage risk to the asset.

This information may come from a number of sources, and timely and reliable data transfer and processing of data is required.  Therefore systems must be implemented to ensure rapid data retrieval; this is particularly important during and after a significant event such as a hurricane, loop or eddy current.
