Anomaly tracking and rectification
2H implements integrity management systems with suitable alert levels incorporated, based on the parameters affecting integrity. On reaching defined near critical and critical levels, pre-determined alarms are triggered which in turn set off an appropriate course of action to protect personnel, the environment and the asset.
Operational change such as temporary increases in operating pressures or higher than anticipated corrosion rates may require careful assessment and reconsideration of acceptable limits. Extreme design conditions, for example during a significant storm, could result in large bending and axial stresses. When combined with the resulting shut in pressure high hoop stresses may be generated and, in combination, could over stress the system if not considered simultaneously.
Through 2H's involvement in subsea integrity related work over the last decade, 2H engineers have identified and remediated a number of critical integrity issues. For example, by analyzing riser motion and strain response 2H have identified the rate of fatigue burn along the riser, and therefore been able to act prior to issues developing into potential catastrophic failure.
In order to assist the process, 2H have developed an integrity management portal which not only allows rapid access to all relevant data, it tracks anomalies until suitable resolution has been made. The portal can be securely viewed by the client, and 2H, personnel providing instant confirmation on any outstanding action – whether this be late inspection activities or anomalies which remain ‘open’.
