2H Offshore has extensive experience in drilling riser design and analysis with over 200 projects conducted to date covering drilling operations worldwide. These include conventional shallow and deepwater MODU operations, high pressure SBOP systems and fixed platform drilling.

2H Offshore pioneered the system approach to drilling riser assessment, whereby all components of the system including wellhead, conductor, casing, BOP, riser and tensioners and all stages of operation are considered in the course of drilling riser design and configuration.

The AMJIG Deepwater Drilling Riser Integrity Management Guidelines, prepared by 2H Offshore, has become a key reference for drilling riser configuration assessment. 2H Offshore is also responsible for the development of guidance for inspection of deepwater drilling risers through the DeepStar JIP.

2H Offshore's experience with drilling risers includes:

  • BP Transocean Development Driller 3 drilling riser design verification
  • Shell Atlantic Margin drilling riser and conductor system analysis
  • Total Donggala SBOP drilling riser design and analysis, taper joint and instrumentation supply
  • High pressure full-bore and slim-bore drilling riser sizing and joint design
  • Development of AMJIG Deepwater Drilling Riser Integrity Management Guidelines

2H Offshore's drilling riser services include:

  • Stack-up and tension optimization
  • In-place operating envelopes
  • Riser, conductor and casing installation analysis
  • Disconnect, recoil and hang-off analysis
  • Wave fatigue and VIV fatigue analysis
  • Wellhead fatigue analysis (including non-rigid lockdown interaction effects)
  • Failure analysis
  • Component structural analysis and FEA
  • Choke and kill line interaction analysis
  • Fracture and fatigue crack growth (ECA) analysis
