2H Offshore Engineer Receives "Best Young Engineer Award" at Offshore West Africa Conference

Houston,  March 2010

2H Offshore Engineer, Pedro Viana was recently presented with the award for “Best Young Engineer” for his paper “Risers and Mooring Lines Integrity Management based on Real-Time Integrity Monitoring,” at the March 2010 Offshore West Africa Conference in Accra, Ghana. The award was presented on 11th March by Eldon Ball from Pennwell.

The paper, co-authored by Peter Falconer, 2H Offshore’s Global IM Business Manager, discusses how the operational failure of deepwater flexible risers and mooring lines can be avoided by the use of monitoring combined with a carefully managed integrity management system. These failures present significant environmental, safety, and physical costs, hence the need for operators to consider preventative measures early on.
